Rule's
Thorne Model Club Rules And Constitution Formulate January
1987 Amended February 2007.
Founded in April 1983, as a result of negotiations with Thorne Town Council,
with the understanding that a committee to made from Thorne Model club members,
shall control the club.
The club shall be called Thorne Model Club
Membership will be at the discretion of the committee. The committee is to be
elected by the members. The committee is to elect the positions of secretary,
treasure and chairman, but the chairman will sit for a maximum of 3 years.
The committee will manage the club, with absolute power over any proposed
changes of policy, and with the power of veto.
An Annual General Meeting shall be held on the first Saturday in February, when
the annual subscription (Fixed by the committee) shall become due. Juniors
(under the age of 18 one the day of the A.G.M) and students in full time
education shall pay a reduced rate. Any member not there membership within 42
days of the A.G.M shall be deemed they have resigned their membership. The cost
of subscription for the forthcoming year shall be announced at the A.G.M.
Times at which flying is permitted shall be strictly adhered to, they are Monday
to Saturday 10 am till 8pm Sunday 12 noon till 6pm.
New/ prospective members of the club must have proof of BMFA insurance cover
before being permitted to fly after six flying visits membership must be applied
for. Ex members who re-apply for membership are not eligible for the six flying
visits. Guest flyers may only fly at the discretion of the committee.
The committee shall have the power to expel from the club any member or guest
that persistently disregards the rules of behaviour on the field as outlined
below

It is an offence
to permit an aircraft to endanger any person or property. That applies not just
to full size aircraft, but also to models, some of which are regarded as being
'small aircraft'.

Fly your model from an unobstructed site and keep
it a safe distance from any person, vehicle,vessel or structure. Fly only in
suitable weather and make sure that you do not infringe local bylaws. You must
never risk endangering full size aircraft. Always take care to avoid injuries to
people or damage to property.

There are additional requirements for bigger
models. If it weighs more than 7 Kilograms you may need permission from your
local Air Traffic Control Unit.
You should not fly a model weighing more than
7Kg. at a height exceeding 400 feet above the surface except with permission.
